Socktober still here

Candy Cane-esque

These white and red socks are my foray into twined aka two-end knitting. It was much slower going then I'm used to but I will definitely try it again sometime. I like the denser and firmer result and while knitting with two colors I found this right handed technique easier in yarn management.

Yarn: Novita Nalle (red) and Regia 6-ply Classics (white).
Needles: 3,0 mm

Green lace

This pattern is my own and actually the first lace pattern that I've ever designed, implemented AND completed! Yay me! (I am patting myself on the back as we speak, best believe it!!) Also, sorry for the color difference in pictures, upper one represents reality better.

Yarn: Novita Nalle
Needles: 3,0 mm

Project Socktober

Colder weather brings with it colder floors. While the icy bathroom floor tiles do induce a nice, bracing wake-up call every morning, I'd still rather have my tootsies nice and cozy warm. So, I've renamed this month Socktober. Needles at the ready! Here we go...

"The Twist"

Pattern: Novita (Talvi/Winter 2010). Original pattern was a longer, tube type sock but I like mine with heels.
Yarn: Novita Nalle (Stash is getting smaller yo!)
My needle: 3,5 mm

Beanies

Hi there! (insert overtly creepy Alex the Lion voice)
My accessories accessories!mood continues.
The pattern for these beanies is from a book "Mützen, Schals & Co. stricken".

This green yarn has been on the bottom of my stash for god knows how long, just one of those forgotten, sad balls of yarn that has been re-balled countless times. Where it came from I have no idea anymore. Ditto on the name.

 Used needles: 3,5mm

I think this is a lovely pattern on both sides. Basically two beanies in one!

Yarn: Schachenmayr Regia Tweed Trend
Used needles: 4 mm

From half gloves to mittens

My mood could be described as obsessed lately... I guess I can only hope for a nice, long and somewhat mild autumn so I can find use for all these (completely fingerless) half gloves.

Here first some fanart inspired stuff. I call them "Dalton Ties". So sue me, I watch Glee. (There's a pun in there somewhere, right) ;-)

Yarn: Gjestal Raggegarn
Duplication pattern: Novita seitsemän veljestä (red) and On-line Starwool Light Line 16 (blue, doubled up)
My needles: 3,5mm

I made these thin, white mittens 'cause I wanted something airy with a regular, simple pattern and well, also something thinner and white. The pattern is a simple rib* P1 + K1 twisted.

Yarn: Schachenmayr Regia 4 ply
My needles: 3 mm

* EDIT: my English and my Finnish weren't co-operating. Called rib a cable. o_O

Halfgloves galore

New town, new yarn shops, previously unknown yarn on sale...
Thus began my current halfglove obsession. Autumn is coming! ;-)

These have been a lovely past time for evenings and they are a perfect little project if you need something for your hands to do while watching TV. Also, good use for yarn you just don't have enough of for bigger projects.

Yarn: On-Line Supersocke 4-ply Walking Color
My needle: 2,5 mm

I found this simple design from Novita (Syksy/Fall 2013). The yarn used here is thinner but I will definitely knit some more for winter.

Yarn: Lana Grossa Meilenweit Grigio
My needle: 2,5 mm

Here's my little contribution to all the fan art out there. Some Ghostlanx fanfic inspired halfglove cuteness.
Yarn: Gjestal Raggegarn and (green) Novita Nalle, doubled for the replica stitching.
My needle: 3,5 mm
I've had this particular yarn for a while and finally found something I really wanted to use it for. For now at least.
